RouteRoad Toll
Over the Fernpass B179 Fernpass road none The route for almost everyone: Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark. Via Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Lermoos, Fernpass, Nassereith and Imst. A transit toll has been decided by the state of Tyrol but is not yet in operation. On changeover Saturdays the pass gets congested.
Via the Inntal motorway A12 Inntal motorway Vignette The route from the east: Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, Brno, Warsaw. Into Austria at Kufstein, then motorway all the way to Landeck. No pass road, no driving through villages.
Over the Arlberg S16 Arlberg expressway 13,00 € The route from Switzerland and Vorarlberg, via Bregenz, Feldkirch and Bludenz. The Arlberg road tunnel costs 13.00 euros per journey for a car. The toll section itself needs no vignette, but you still need one for the motorway before and after.
Via Seefeld B177 Seefeld road none The alternative when the Fernpass is at a standstill: via Mittenwald and Seefeld, then down the Zirler Berg into the Inn valley. The descent has gradients of up to 16 per cent. Important for the journey home: uphill towards Seefeld, cars with trailers over 750 kg are banned. With a caravan, better go over the Fernpass.
Over the Reschen Pass B180 Reschen road none For guests from Switzerland often almost as quick as the Arlberg, and you save the tunnel toll. Via the Vinschgau and Nauders, a wide road. At Prutz you are already on the final stretch.

From Landeck the route is the same for everyone: down the valley on the B180 Reschenstrasse, then up the L19 Serfauser Strasse to Fiss. Two main roads, both two-lane and cleared in winter. You come out right on the Via Claudia Augusta, and the house stands on that road.

Innsbruck is the shortest route and usually the best, even if the flight costs a few euros more. Friedrichshafen and Memmingen are about two and a half hours away, Munich and Zurich around three.

Send us your flight number and landing time and we will tell you which option still works at your arrival time. The last bus from Landeck leaves at 18:40. That often settles everything.

For anything around Fiss a phone call is enough: in the evening after dinner, down to Ladis, to Landeck-Zams station. If you prefer, let us know. We will order one for you and you need not worry about a thing.

The ride from the airport is a different matter. All three go to Innsbruck, Munich and Zurich and will quote you a fixed price in advance on request: you travel alone, at your time, and if your flight is late the car waits. There are also operators selling the same route from Innsbruck online as a shared transfer. There you share the vehicle with other guests, which brings the price per person down, but the departure follows the group.

Our suggestion: ask here for a fixed price once, look online once, then decide. For two people or with a lot of luggage the taxi is often closer than you think.

Phone numbers read on 28.09.2026 at familytaxi.at, serfaus-fiss.taxi and west.taxi. The three are independent companies and not a service of the hotel; we list them in alphabetical order and recommend none over the others. Price note: for a one-way journey from Innsbruck airport to Fiss the taxi trade quoted us around 160 euros per vehicle on 17.09.2026. A 2026 guide figure, not an offer and not a hotel price: please ask the operator directly about surcharges, number of passengers and time of day.

Still got questions about the route? Call us and we will talk you through it. Evenings too.
