You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Complaints authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).

The website runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany, which acts as our data processor. When you access the website, technically necessary data (IP address, browser, time of access) is processed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the website securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Bookings are made through our booking system (booking.hotel-gebhard.at, provided by Seekda). We process the data entered there (name, contact details, travel details, payment details) for the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The booking system sets its own cookies and asks you about these directly.

We do not currently use web analytics on this website. If we introduce them in future, we will only do so with your consent through the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 165(3) TKG 2021).

We use Google Ads conversion tracking (Google Ireland Limited) to measure the effectiveness of our Google ads, solely with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 165(3) TKG 2021). Without your consent, the Google script is not loaded. With your consent, the cookies _gcl_au and _gcl_aw (90 days each) may be set and data may be transferred to Google: your IP address, referrer, browser, the ad you clicked and the “Continue to booking” step. This may also involve a transfer to the USA; by giving your consent, you agree to this transfer (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

We use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland) to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram, solely with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 165(3) TKG 2021). Without your consent, the Meta script is not loaded. With your consent, your browser loads a script from connect.facebook.net, Meta may set the cookies _fbp and _fbc (90 days each), and data is transferred to Meta: your IP address, browser, the page you visited, and the “Viewed rooms and prices” and “Continue to booking” steps with your arrival and departure dates. This allows us to see which ads have been effective and to show visitors to this website ads again on Facebook and Instagram. We and Meta are joint controllers for this collection and transfer of data (Art. 26 GDPR). This may also involve a transfer to the USA; Meta states that it relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for this. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

We always store technically necessary data: your cookie preferences (gebhard-einwilligung, 12 months), your chat session (gebhard-chat-sitzung, until you close the tab, only if you use the chat) and the menu view (menueAnsicht, until you close the tab). These are entries in your browser’s storage. Marketing is only enabled with your consent. Alongside your preferences, we store the time, the version of the notice and a random number, solely in your browser.

You may change your preferences or withdraw your consent at any time under “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. We will ask again after 12 months or if a purpose changes.

The Directions page includes a map with a route planner. It is only loaded when you click “Load and consent” (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 165(3) TKG 2021). No requests are made to third parties before then. The mapping software is hosted on our own server.

After you click, map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org). If you enter an address, the text is sent to Photon (photon.komoot.io) to search for the location, and the starting point and destination are sent to the OSRM demo server (router.project-osrm.org) to calculate the route. The providers receive your IP address in the process. We do not set cookies for this. Your consent applies only to this visit; we will ask again on your next visit.

You can ask questions through a chat window on our website. The replies are written by an AI assistant, not a person. A member of our hotel team can take over the conversation at any time and reply personally.

We process the text of your messages, the time, a randomly generated session identifier and your IP address. The session identifier is used solely to continue your conversation when you move to another page; it contains no information about you as an individual. We use your IP address solely to prevent misuse and do not store it permanently.

If you voluntarily provide personal information in the chat, such as your name or travel dates, this will also be stored. Please do not share particularly sensitive data in the chat, such as health information or payment details.

To generate replies, we transfer the conversation history to Anthropic PBC, San Francisco, USA, acting as a data processor. A data processing agreement is in place; the transfer to the USA is safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Anthropic does not use the content to train its models.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing prompt guest support under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. For a specific booking enquiry, we also rely on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We retain conversation histories for up to twelve months and delete them afterwards.
