Bright hotel room with a wooden bed, bench and sunlight at the window

A Small Individual Hotel · Open for Nice People · Since 1983

Hotel Gebhard in Fiss.
Family-run since 1983.

A boutique hotel with 19 rooms, family-run since 1983, right in the heart of Fiss in Tyrol. As a bed and breakfast we have what big hotels lack: time. After two days we know how you take your coffee. There is no compulsory half board and no buffet at seven sharp. Instead you get a Tyrolean breakfast with homemade speck and jam, Pinsa Romana from our pop-up in the evening, and a bar that feels like your sitting room until 9 pm. Sauna and spa cost nothing extra, and the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis lifts are a short walk away. Our hotel in Fiss is in the middle of the village, a six minute walk from the cable car.

Hotel façade with wooden balconies, flowering window boxes and mountains behind

Nineteen rooms. Eleven ways to sleep well.

Oak floors for bare feet, carpets of Tyrolean sheep's wool, furniture made in the region, Susanne Kaufmann in the bathroom, a spa bag in the wardrobe. All eleven have that.

The difference is the floor plan: sixteen square metres, north-facing and quiet, or fifty-three on two levels. Prices are a guide, per person.

No dining room. Nobody goes hungry anyway.

We stopped offering half board years ago. Breakfast is from eight to ten. Local eggs, homemade speck, homemade jam. If you need an early start, let us know the evening before. We are usually up anyway.

After breakfast the FREIRAUM is yours. Every room has its own compartment in the fridge. Bring something for a light meal, help yourself from our fridge, or ask us to put something together, in a bread box if you like. Plates and cutlery are laid out, we supply the drinks and do the washing-up. Open until 9 pm. In the evening there is Pinsa Romana too, with salad and tartufo. Pre-order only.

Four treatments. One quiet room. Plenty of calm.

Around four the house quietens down and the regular sauna hours begin. Finnish sauna up to a hundred degrees, you choose the infusion yourself. Next to it the organic herbal sauna, gentler. Then the steam bath and infrared cabin, plus a tea bar with tea from Sonnentor.

No chatting in the relaxation area, that is the only rule. We recommend going without swimwear, but it is your choice. Children under fifteen are welcome until 6 pm, accompanied by an adult. We do not offer massages.

Hiking in Fiss with lifts and the hiking bus

The Super Sommer Card is included for guests of Hotel Gebhard on every open summer day. With it you use all the region's open lifts as often as you like and reach the adventure worlds on the mountain at no extra cost. The Waldbahn and Schönjochbahn lifts are just a few minutes' walk from the house. The hiking bus links Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis and takes you comfortably to the start of your walk and back again.

Fiss sits at 1,436 m on the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis plateau. There are walks for your very first outing, scenic paths near the treeline and high-alpine routes. Guided mountain walks and village tours cost nothing extra. Children aged three and over are welcome at the Mini&Maxi Club in Fiss or the Murmli Club in Serfaus. You book walks and clubs online through the region's website. Collect your card from reception from 8 am.

From the bike park to the hut tour

Around Fiss you will find a bike park, singletrails and tours across the plateau, from gentle climbs to sporty trails. On an e-bike you reach huts and alpine pastures with ease. The Waldbahn and Schönjochbahn lifts are just a few minutes' walk from Hotel Gebhard. With the Super Sommer Card you pay less for the All-Mountain-Bike ticket and for bike school courses. So you can choose between very different kinds of bike day on the plateau.

Taking your bike or dog up the lift costs extra, as do the Fisser Flieger and Serfauser Sauser rides. After your ride you can use the spa at Hotel Gebhard free of charge and round off the day at the bar, open until 9 pm. If you still fancy something to eat in the evening, there is pinsa to pre-order. The Waldbahn and Schönjochbahn lifts are a few minutes' walk from the house and get you quickly back to the trailheads around Fiss.
